Whether you sweat a lot, work out a ton, or are frequently hungover, electrolyte powders can be a great tool to help get your body feeling right and back at equilibrium. But with so many options out there, it can be hard to decide which ones to buy. They can also get expensive, so you definitely don’t want to waste money buying ones that aren’t good. So I decided to try them all to help you guys out and find the best electrolytes the first time.
How I Ranked the Best Electrolyte Powders?
I like to keep things simple when it comes to ranking. While I’ll touch on some things I like about each one outside of the factors below, I tried to keep my rankings based solely on the two main factors that matter most to me.
- Taste: Pretty simple. Which one tastes the best to me? Keep in mind, I like things that are sweet.
- Value: I looked at the price per stick and compared it to the taste to give it a value score. So even if something was very inexpensive compared to others, if it didn’t taste good, the value score wouldn’t be as high as it could be.

Liquid I.V. Cotton Candy (7.75/10)

The Liquid I.V. Cotton Candy flavor took the top spot for its mix of great flavor and affordability. It’s somewhere in the middle when it comes to pricing at $1.56 per stick, but it’s the taste that really gave it the win here. It is very sweet and tastes exactly like cotton candy. So if you’re like me and enjoy a sweet drink and don’t mind a little sugar, you will like this one.
That being said, I’m sure many people may not like it since it is definitely very sweet and contains 11g of sugar. But relatively speaking, I don’t think 11g of sugar is that bad. If you look at Gatorade, it has double that, so it’s a win for me.
Liquid I.V. Sugar-Free Green Grape (7.5/10)

Next up was the Green Grape flavor from Liquid I.V., a close second. It has a slightly lower price per stick at $1.50 and just barely lost the taste test. If you like a sugar-free, more crisp, refreshing, less sugary flavor, you will like this one. The nice thing is it still tastes pretty sweet. It is sweetened with stevia leaf extract, which I’ve always enjoyed and feel is one of the better options for sugar-free sweeteners.
Instant Hydration Watermelon (7.25/10)

I really enjoyed the Instant Hydration Watermelon flavor. It’s another one that has a very nice balance of great taste while still being light and refreshing. It uses both stevia and organic monk fruit along with natural watermelon flavor. One thing that is nice about this brand is that they have a very clean ingredient label, which you like to see. We also have a 40% off Instant Hydration discount code which sweetens the deal for you even more.
No Days Wasted Strawberry Pineapple (7.25/10)

If you’re looking for a tropical flavor, this is my go-to. It’s a nice change up from what I’m used to with these electrolyte powders, which can often feel quite redundant. This one is very unique, and I love it. No Days Wasted also adds a lot of vitamins and zinc to their product, which I like since it helps support immune health. This one is a very solid option.
Go Hydrate Kiwi Strawberry (7/10)

I wasn’t a huge fan of this flavor. It’s not bad, but it’s kind of bland compared to the others. Where it lacks in flavor, though, it does make up for in value, as you can get these for $1.33 per stick, which is the second lowest price on the list.
Plink Pineapple Grapefruit (6.5/10)

Plink is a nice option if you’re looking for something different. It’s a tablet rather than a powder, and it makes the drink slightly fizzy, which I enjoyed. It’s kind of like Emergen-C, but I think the taste isn’t as strong. If you like grapefruit, you’ll enjoy this, but I’m not a huge grapefruit fan, so this came in a bit lower for me. That being said, the pricing here is the best on the list at $1.07 per tablet.
Cure Hydration Strawberry Kiwi (6.25/10)

I enjoyed the Strawberry Kiwi by Cure Hydration. It’s a good-tasting electrolyte powder and was a high scorer. They really got crushed by their pricing, though. At $1.71 per stick, they were the most expensive on the list. Maybe we can get you guys a big discount, and that would boost them up the list a lot. We’ll work on that, as I think this score doesn’t fully do them justice.
Nakedade Strawberry Lemonade (4/10)

I hate giving out bad grades, but unfortunately I did not like this one at all. It’s hard to describe the taste, but it just wasn’t good. It’s surprising too, considering they have the most sugar compared to any other product, even the cotton candy flavor, so you’d think it would taste better. Maybe I got a bad batch, or maybe they have a better flavor. I’m going to try to get in touch with them and see if I can find out more.
Electrolyte Powders FAQs
What is the best tasting electrolyte powder?
I thought the Liquid I.V. Cotton Candy was the best overall. If you prefer something sugar-free and more crisp, I’d probably go with their Green Grape Sugar-Free flavor. No Days Wasted and Instant Hydration also have great-tasting products.
What is the best price for electrolyte powders?
Plink offers the best price among the electrolyte powders, coming in at $1.07 per tablet.
When should I drink electrolyte powders?
I typically like to drink them during a long, intense workout or right after. If you’re talking about using them for drinking purposes, it’s great to have one before you go to bed, as that helps the most. Follow that up with one in the morning, and you should be able to handle most hangovers.
