Sectional Couch FAQs
What is a sectional couch?
A sectional couch (or some may call it a sofa) is basically any couch where there are conjoined pieces. Oftentimes, they feature a chaise which is the elongated piece that allows you to kick your legs up.
How to connect a sectional couch?
Every sectional is a little bit different. Many sectional couches have little hooks on the bottom where one piece connects to another. You typically have to lift one piece up to remove it from the hook on the piece that it is conjoined too. I recommend checking out your manufacturer’s guide when setting up your sectional couch.
How to take apart a sectional couch?
Again, it depends on your specific sectional so check your manufacturer’s instructions first.
How to measure a sectional couch?
When measuring a sectional it’s important to measure the length, width, and height of the couch. If you are moving make sure to check the dimensions of your doors and/or elevators to ensure your sectional pieces will fit. Also, it’s typically a good idea to print out your floor plan before moving and determining if your sectional will fit appropriately before making a purchase.
What size rug should you get for a sectional couch?
When purchasing a rug to go under a sectional couch it’s really more important to check the size of your room rather than the sectional. If you have a small living room, I think a rug should cover about 40% – 50% of the floor.
