I’m on a mission to find the best prepared meal delivery services, and that journey led me to CookUnity. This is one I’m very excited about because I’ve heard really good things about CookUnity. They advertise that real chefs prepare all of their meals, so it’s like getting your own private 5-star chef for a fraction of the cost.
If you’re thinking about trying it out for yourself, you’re in the right place because I already tested it and broke down my thoughts here to help you make your decision.
CookUnity Unboxing Video
What is CookUnity?
CookUnity is a prepared meal delivery service that delivers fully cooked meals ready to heat up and eat in just a couple of minutes. It makes it easy to have meals for the week ready to go with little to no prep required.
What makes CookUnity unique is that they work with award-winning and Michelin-starred chefs to craft their meals. It’s a really cool concept compared to many other meal delivery services out there. A lot of meal prep companies focus mainly on convenience and making it easy to track macros, but CookUnity leans more into creating a premium dining experience with a bigger emphasis on flavor and overall quality.
The Ordering & Shipping Experience
The ordering experience was similar to most other meal delivery services. You scroll through the menu, choose how many meals you want, and then pick your specific meals.
One thing I didn’t like was that you can’t easily filter out meals with additional fees. A lot of the meals I was most interested in had extra charges attached, which can make it harder to stay within your budget.
One area where they definitely exceeded expectations was the packaging and shipping experience. Instead of arriving in a standard cardboard box like many competitors, the meals came packaged in what felt like an actual cooler, which helped everything stay cold and fresh.
Ranking The Meals I Tried
I tried to keep these rankings focused purely on taste. While I did look at the ingredient lists, my main focus here was flavor and texture. Simply put: did I enjoy eating the meal or not?

CookUnity FAQs
Are CookUnity meals fresh or frozen?
CookUnity meals come fresh and are ready to heat up and eat right away. I kept some in the fridge ready to go and froze a few others, then took them out the day before I wanted to eat them.
How to prepare CookUnity meals?
You can simply microwave CookUnity meals for about 2 to 3 minutes and be good to go. I usually did 2 to 2.5 minutes. You can also cook them on the stovetop, but it might take a bit longer. Personally, I prefer the convenience of just using the microwave.
Does CookUnity use seed oils?
Yes, many of the CookUnity meals I tried did contain seed oils like canola oil in the ingredient list. This seems to be pretty common with the majority of prepared meal delivery services.
Are CookUnity meals filling?
Most of the CookUnity meals I had were filling and didn’t require me to eat another meal right after.
