As someone who hates cooking and loves convenience, meal delivery services have long been on my mind. Recently, I came across Trifecta Meals and decided it was finally time to give one a shot. Here’s everything I tried and my honest feedback on the company. Hope it helps. Also, stick around because I’m planning to review all the other meal delivery brands out there very soon and compare them.

What is Trifecta Meals?

Trifecta Meals is a healthy meal delivery service that’s branded around the three aspects of human well-being: mind, body, and social. From my understanding, they hit on these core values by first providing healthy meals to help fuel your body. Secondly, they have a mobile app and tons of blog content where you can learn about healthy eating and other wellness topics. There’s also supposed to be an online community of sorts, but I couldn’t find that. So, there are plenty of resources they provide to help you hit your goals. They were also featured in the Netflix “You Are What You Eat” docuseries, which I thought was cool. There’s definitely a lot more to dig into, but for now I’m simply focusing on the meals since I’m sure that’s what most of you are here to learn about too.

The Ordering & Shipping Experience

So before you can get the meals, you’ve got to place the order. Sometimes these meal delivery sites make that complicated, but I thought the ordering process was fairly simple. You just go to the website, click “Build Your Plan,” and select whether you want to choose the meals yourself or let the chef decide. If you’re letting the chef pick, you choose based on diet such as clean meals, paleo, keto, plant-based, and so on. They even have a GLP-1 diet option. You can also add ingredient exclusions. If you’re picking your own meals, you simply look at the weekly menu and see what’s available for the week ahead. There are tons of filters you can use, and the menu selection page is pretty clean. It shows you images of the meals, macros, and ingredients when you click in.

How it works is you pick 7, 10, or 14 meals, and then you order weekly by Friday. It delivers the next Friday, which I think is reasonable. The only thing that kind of sucks is that I felt like I couldn’t make plans to travel that weekend since I needed to be home to get the meals or they would’ve sat on my front porch all weekend and spoiled. But that’s just something you have to plan around. Overall, the shipping was good. Everything came on time, cold, and not spoiled.

Ranking The Meals I Tried

For the ranking method, I kept it very simple and just focused on taste. Appearance is certainly important since it can impact your brain’s decision-making on whether or not it tastes good, but I tried not to let looks bias my opinion on taste.

Trifecta Meals Ranked By Taste

My Favorites

Roasted Red Pepper Egg Bites

At the top of the list for me were the roasted red pepper egg bites. I’m a huge breakfast person and love the Starbucks egg bites, so it’s no surprise that these took the top spot as my favorite. It’s funny because from an appearance standpoint they probably rank among the least appetizing of all the meals I tried, but the taste was excellent. They have two types of cheese, including Gruyere, which makes them taste very premium.

Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Sweet Potatoes and Cauliflower Rice

This was a very solid meal in my opinion. I eat a lot of salmon and love sweet potatoes, so this is a staple in my diet but done in a much more convenient way. I usually air fry salmon and potatoes, but that takes a lot of prep work. For this, it’s literally two minutes and fifteen seconds in the microwave and you’re good to go. Homemade salmon and potatoes definitely get a slight edge, but I was very impressed with the quality and taste given the convenience. I’m sure if I had air fried this or cooked it on a skillet it would’ve tasted even better too, but honestly, I thought it was very solid straight out of the microwave.

My Least Favorite

Boneless Pork Chop with Cauliflower and Sweet Curry

Boneless Pork Chop with Cauliflower and Sweet Curry

The pork chop was by far my least favorite and pretty much the only meal I tried that I truly disliked. And honestly, it’s not totally fair because the reason I didn’t like it is that I hate curry. When I ordered, I must have missed that it was a boneless pork chop with sweet curry. I was trying to get some variety in the meals, so I mixed it up and must have passed over that detail. But yeah, it was really the sauce I didn’t like. The pork chop itself was actually really good and tender, and I’ve loved the cauliflower in all their meals. If there was no curry sauce, it could have been one of my favorites. I tried scraping the sauce off the pork chop, but it was already too soaked in, so I ended up throwing it out.

Bonus Review

High Protein Brownies

High Protein Brownies

Not a meal, so I didn’t include them in the rankings, but the high-protein brownies were absolutely fire. A great add-on for sure. I originally ate one cold and it was good, but put it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and eat it with a spoon and you will not be disappointed. I have a huge sweet tooth, so this was a nice addition.

Conclusion, Is It Worth Buying Trifecta Meals?

I would say if you hate cooking and value convenience but are trying to eat better, you will definitely enjoy Trifecta Meals. I think home-cooked meals are always going to have a slight edge in terms of taste, but Trifecta makes it so easy if you’re super busy like me and don’t have time to cook. Sometimes I only have about 15 minutes for lunch, so these helped me out a lot on those jam-packed days. Also, if you’re trying to lose weight or have diet goals, you’ll find these super helpful since all the macros are clearly listed and you can use their app to keep track of everything. So yes, to me they’re good quality meals and worth it, especially for people who value convenience.

Trifecta Meals FAQs

Are Trifecta Meals Fresh or Frozen?

My meals came fresh, not frozen. They were cold and well insulated but didn’t appear to have ever been frozen. I took a couple of meals out of the package and put them in the fridge, then stored the rest in the freezer.

How much do Trifecta Meals cost?

On the high end, they’re around $16 per meal if you get seven meals, but that drops to $14.99 per meal if you order the 14-meal package.

Does Trifecta Meals have discount codes?

Yes, they do, and luckily for you, we have the best Trifecta meals discount code you can get. Save 50% plus get free high-protein brownies when you use code: GUYS at checkout.

How did you cook Trifecta Meals?

They say the meals can be microwaved, air-fried, or warmed up in a skillet. I chose the easiest option every time, which was to microwave them for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, and I thought that worked well. Everything was perfectly warm, not too hot or cold, right in the middle. I’m sure they might taste even better if cooked differently, but I went with convenience since that’s what I valued most here.

Does Trifecta Meals use seed oils?

From what I’ve seen, they don’t clearly advertise that they never use seed oils. I believe they use them, but very sparingly. You can check the ingredients of each meal to see what oils were used.

Are Trifecta Meals filling?

It depends on the meal. Some filled me up adequately, but there were a few times when I had to eat two to feel full. I know the first meal I tried was the buffalo chicken bowl for dinner, and I followed that up with the Atlantic salmon.
